DID YOU KNOW? By late 2020, online passwords used worldwide will number 300 billion
The shadowy world of hacker groups
Cyber criminals often reside in online
communities, sharing things they’ve learned and
boasting about their ‘accomplishments’.
The more hackers that work together, the
bigger the feats they’re able to pull off, and
often they join forces for some shared goal.
One of the most infamous was the hacker
group Anonymous. Branding themselves as
‘hacktivists’ they wore Guy Fawkes masks and
claimed to take on the big corporate and
government bad guys on behalf of the ordinary
people of the world. But since 2015 they haveall
but disappeared, with fewer hacktivist attacks
reported worldwide. Getting involved in political
hacking is thought to be one of the reasons
many of its members quit.
