Vette – July 2019

(National Geographic (Little) Kids) #1
Werner Meier figured
this 1964 was worth
about $12,000, which
he learned another
buyer had offered.
Meier went ahead and
paid the asking price of
$15,000 because he had
many parts for the car
and decided it would
be a great candidate to
build into a GM Styling
car clone.

The dark blue interior was complete, and looked
stock. The glovebox door had been removed.

The Silver Blue lacquer paint is original. Maybe it will buff out.

The 1964 Corvette is not a good candidate for a big-block swap.
Werner Meier said, “The frame doesn’t have the divot. If you
want to do a big-block mid-year, you want to do it to a ’66 or a ’67.”

This 1963 convertible is an example of a GM Styling
Corvette made for Bunkie Knudsen.

The odometer showed 39,999 miles,
about right for a car that went off the
road in 1975.
