I love your magazine, with all its gifts and
inspiration every month. I just had a play with
issue 205’s Alice in Wonderland cover gift, and
here are two cards I made with the patterned
papers and toppers from the set.
Genny Ginter, Luton

Hayley says: We’re glad you had fun with the
Alice in Wonderland gift Genny, we love the
interesting card shapes you’ve chosen.

Spring assprung
I’ve always wanted to create a pop-up box card
but did not know where to begin, so I turned to
YouTube, watched numerous videos and
decided to give it a go. I found a video by Lea
Denton at the Crafty Spark and followed her
clear instructions on how to create one. It was
much easier than I expected. I already had lots
of die-cut flowers and leaves so used those to
put together this creation. I knew I wanted to
use bright, vibrant colours to reflect the friend
I made the card for. This was an exciting and
fun card to make and I am very pleased with
the end result of this, my first attempt.
Ginny Moore, New Zealand

Hayley says: Thanks for sending in a picture
of your pop-up box card Ginny, it’s so
impressive and I’m sure your friend will love it.
The design is beautiful and the colours you’ve
chosen are perfect for new-season blooms.

Bouquet blooms
I was asked to make a birthday card for a friend,
which had to have flowers on it and use lots of
whites and blues. I came across the centre
stepper card tutorial by Sam on Mixed Up
Craft and decided to follow that. I used blue
card for the base card, holographic mirror card
as a layer, and papers from The Paper
Boutique. I used lots of tiny die-cut flowers in
white and blue, green leaves and a ‘Happy
birthday’ sentiment on a stitched die-cut oval.
Sue Vincett, Shoeburyness

Hayley says: The tiny punched flowers look
beautiful on display in this bouquet with its
clever stepper card – well done, Sue!

Minimaker
Every time my granddaughter, Eloise (aged
four) comes round to my house she wants to
make a card in my craft room. She
especially loves stamping and colouring. It is
her Mommy’s birthday tomorrow and she
knew exactly what stamp she was looking for
to make her a card. She is quite independent
and chooses her own papers and colours.
Margrit Forrester, Wolverhampton

Hayley says: It’s great to hear that Eloise
knows what she wants in the craft room,
that’s a sign of a good cardmaker! The
birthday card she’s made is brilliant and
we can’t wait to see what she makes next!
