n IN the javelin, former
European champion Tatsiana
Khaladovich won a tight contest
with a third round 66.10m as
Australian Kelsey Barber was
a close second after a final
round 65.85m.
nTHE highlight of the women’s
para events was Sophie Hahn’s
T35-38 100m victory (right), in
12.45 to go close to her world
record of 12.43.
nWORLD champion Stef Reid
won the T44-T64 long jump
with a 5.36m leap while in the
T33-34 100m, there was a clear
win for Kare Adenegan in 17.91.
nTHE Club Connect relays saw
wins for Shaftesbury Barnet’s
under-20 women in 46.31 to go

third all-time, Blackheath and
Bromley’s under-17 team in
47.61, Croydon’s under-15s in
48.67 and Reading’s under-
RUSSIAN Anzhelika Sidorova won an team in 52.06.
exciting pole vault on countback with a
4.75m leap.
Reigning world champion Katerina
Stefanidi matched that but paid for a
first-time failure at her opening height
of 4.55m as the leading duo both failed
at 4.82m.
That made Sidorova the fifth
different Diamond League winner in six
competitions this summer.
The victor said: “It was really hard
because it was windy today. All the girls
had to fight the wind, but I’m happy with
my win. I know that it was good being
near the start of the season and it’s a
long way to Doha.”
Holly Bradshaw was third with a vault
of 4.65m and was very unlucky with her
final vault of 4.75m.

She said: “It was a little up and down
really, I had a little bit of a shaky warm-up
because of the wind picking up and it
was only a couple of months ago I had
a couple of crashes in training, landing
on the track, so it really shook me up for
about six weeks. It was a real test for me
to get a result at 4.65m.
She added: “The crowd are always
great and they really got behind me,
especially on the last jump at 4.75m
as I was only a few millimetres off
clearing it and it was really helped by the
atmosphere of the crowd. I’m going to
take four weeks off now because I
want to get back to 16 steps, as I’m only
on 14. My next competition will be in
Birmingham and the British Champs.
So yes, I have some exciting competitions
coming up.”
