Suilven from
Stac Pollaidh
It can be hard to do justice to such
an iconic view as Suilven from
Stac Pollaidh. It is a landscape I
have photographed many times
before, and on every occasion
the conditions I’d hoped for had
failed to materialise. In May 2019,
a forecast for dawn mist filling the
glens caught my attention, and I set
out to reach Stac Pollaidh’s summit
for 3.30am. With just the sound of
cuckoos echoing around the hills, I
spent an hour photographing some
of the most memorable conditions
I’ve ever seen in Scotland.
