NICK BOSA,

DE, 49ERS

Did you realize making football cards was such a

big business and the Rookie Premiere was such a

big organized event?

“I didn’t know it was this much signing. I defi nitely

don’t mind signing stuff , but it’s been good so far.”

What are you looking forward to most this year?

“I’m just excited to get on the fi eld. It’s been a while. It’s

the game I love.”

What was it like watching your Ohio State team-

mates play while you were rehabbing and getting

ready for the draft?

“It was really tough. It was a long process and long

rehab. I feel really good now and I’m ready to get back

out there.”

What cards of yours this weekend have you

thought were cool or unique?

“I like the metal ones. Just good quality. Th ey’re all re-

ally nice. I liked the ‘Smaller Bear’ one. Th e ones that have

multiple players on them—me, Dwayne and Parris were

on one.”

What all-time player would you most want to be

on a football card with?

“Probably my dad. Th at would be a cool card.”

Who’s your early pick for Rookie of the Year?

“Well, it’s all off ensive guys. So, I’ll take Defensive Rookie of

the Year, and I’ll give off ense to Dwyane.”

Is it weird being the only defensive player at the

Rookie Premiere?

“Well, I like the guys here so it’s not like I’m an oddball out

here. It’s all good. It’s defi nitely an honor. Joey was the only

one and I’m the only one. It’s surprising with the draft domi-

nated by defense, I felt like there would be a few more here.”

What would you be doing if you were not playing

football?

“I don’t know what I would be doing as a profession

because a lot of my life has been geared toward football.

I’m a Florida kid, so I like going out on the boat and go-

ing to the beach.”

Any players you’re looking forward to playing

against?

“I’m excited to get going against Joe Staley in practice. He’s

a 13-year vet. It will defi nitely be a big challenge for me and

make me better. And obviously my teammates that I played

with in college. My brother.”

What players still at Ohio State should collectors

watch out for the next couple years?

“Probably Chase Young. He might just be the one defen-

sive guy invited to this event next year. Th at’s how good I

think he’ll be.”

What will you miss most about college football?

“Just Ohio State and all of my teammates. Just the ca-

maraderie that comes with college football. You can’t beat

it. We spend every waking hour together at camp to the

season. You just become really close. It’s hard to replicate

that in the NFL, but I haven’t experienced the 49ers yet. So

maybe it will be just as great.”
