hockey. The coolest card we
had was an old hockey card. It
was limited-edition, mint. My
brothers were obsessed with it.”
What all-time player
would you most want to be
on a football card with?
“I don’t know. Ask me in a
couple years and I’ll tell you.”
What style of tight end
are Lions fans getting?
“Something I’ve always prid-
ed myself in is being a complete
tight end. That’s something I’m
going to continue trying to do
at the next level is doing every-
thing that the job requires.”
Any players you’re
looking forward to playing
against?
“There are so many great
players. We’re at the highest
level now. Everyone is good
at their job. Everyone that
makes it on the roster is doing
something right. It’s just cool to
be part of it.”
What players still at Iowa
should collectors watch out
for the next couple years?
“One of my best friends,
Nate Wieting is there. He’s
going to be a good tight end
this year. He’s a great player, but
even better dude.”
What will you miss most
about college football?
“College football is a lot of
fun. Just being able to have
those relationships with all
your teammates, but you can’t
look back now. I’m just trying
to put my head down and
make my name something, and
help my team at this next level.”
