madeourswitha 50cmdiameter.

SteptwoMakea templateusinghalfofyour

measurement,soourquartercirclemeasured

25cm(10in)alongeachside.Wethenuseda

pencilandstringanchoringatthecentrepoint

of the right angle to make a perfect curve.

SteponeMeasurethediameterofquarterofthe

circle.Ourscameto39cm(15⁄in),multiplythis

by4 togetthetotaldiameter,inourcasethis

was156cm(62in).Cutdiagonalstripsofyour

chosenfabric6cm(2⁄in)wideuntilyoumakea

lengththetotaldiameterofyourcircle plus 3cm

(1in)extraforseamallowance.^02

Step twoSew these strips together on the

diagonaltomakeonelongpieceofbinding.^03

StepthreeFoldthetwocircles in half and cut

a smallnotchateachend.

StepfourCutoneendofthebindingstraight

acrossthenfoldin1.5cm(⁄in)andpress.

StepfiveFoldthebindinginhalfandpintothe

mainfabricstartingatoneofthenotches,with

rawedgestogetherandthefoldededgeinthe

middleofthenotch.Whenyougettothe

oppositenotchcutthebindingleavingenough

tofoldintheendlikeyoudidat the start. Press

andpintheendinplace.^04

place with a 1cm (⁄in) seam allowance.

pin.Repeat,this time starting at the opposite
