Weusedseveralshadesoflavenderstranded
cotton,withyellowfortheflowercentres,working
withthreestrandsthroughout.Embroiderthe
petalswithgranitosstitchasdetailedaboveand
worktheflowercentreswithsmallFrenchknots.
Wewrappedthethreadaround the needle twice
tocreatetheFrenchknots.
SteptwoCuttheembroideredlinenintotwo7cm
(2 in)squareswiththedesignsinthecentre.Cut
two7cm(2 in)squaresandone 11cm (4 ⁄ in)
square of quilting cotton.^03

inanalternatingpattern.
SteptwoSewthesquarestogetherusinga 7mm
seamallowanceandremovingthe pins as you
sew. Press the seams open.
ASSEMBLINGTHESACHET
SteponePinthepiecedtoptothequiltingcotton
squarewithrightsides(RS)ofthefabricstogether.
SteptwoSewaroundtheedges,leavinga 5cm
(2in)openingforturning.Trim the corners and
turnthesachetRSout.
StepthreeUsea pieceofpapertomakea
cone-shapedfunnelandfillthesachetwith
approximately 30 grams( cup)ofa mixtureof
riceandlavender.Neatly sew the opening closed
withladderstitch.^05
StepfourSewa buttonintothecentreofthe
