The gorgeous concept
from EICMA 2018 is all
set for a 2020 launch

IZZA, SOPHIA LOREN AND NOW,
the Superveloce 800 Serie Oro.
The Italians sure know how to
steal your heart. Designed as a concept
to pay homage to their racing heritage,
MV confirmed that the bike will hit the
streets next year following the tremendous
response to the concept.
From the classic cutline, yellow-tinted
plexiglass windscreen and headlamps to
the circular taillamp, this MV screams the
’70s. But that’s where the retro theme
ends. The circular headlamp and the
taillight may have retro styling, but they
house LED illumination. It also gets a full
colour TFT from the Tourismo Veloce.
The bike is based on the F3 800,
flaunting the same three-cylinder, 798cc
engine churning 148bhp and 87.9Nm. Even
the riding position is straight from the F3.
Its also gets adjustable footpegs, allowing
riders to tweak their position.
The leather strap for the fuel lid, the
exclusive SC Project asymmetrical three-
one-three exhaust and the minimalist tail,
make it all the more appealing.
Limited to just 300 examples, this
retro-futuristic bike carries a price tag of
`24.6 lakh (UK price, excluding Indian taxes
and duties), which means this beauty will
surely break many hearts.

ONCORSO D’ELEGANZA VILLA
d’Este has become an exhibition for
automobiles that truly stand apart. In
addition to the timeless classics that grace the
event, manufacturers also take to the event to
showcase their concepts. The Hypermotard 950
Concept was one of them, showcased alongside
the MV Agusta Superveloce 800 you also see
on this page, and won the judges over to take
the best design trophy in the concept bikes
category.
Designed by Centro Stile Ducati, the design
and styling division of Ducati, the motorcycle
gets updated kit and a fresh paintjob. Drawing
inspiration from the Desmosedici, the already
maniacal Hypermotard 950 concept dials it
up a notch with a dual-tone paint job, with the
wheels getting a dose of the red paint too. The
Urban Graffiti-inspired paintjob along with the
MotoGP-inspired elements such as the exposed
dry clutch, top-notch Brembo monoblocs and
top drawer Ohlins, adds to the functionality as
well.
Mechanically, the bike stays the same as
the Hypermotard 950 (not the SP) barring the
changes mentioned.

The highly-anticipated Streetfighter V4 is ready to prove
its mettle in the Race to the Clouds

Mad Hatter

Naked Monstrosity

AYS BEFORE THE PIKES PEAK
Hill Climb, Ducati showcased the
Streetfighter V4 prototype.
The bike is a stripped-down version of the
Panigale V4 now with high, wide handlebars.
The engine too is straight from the Panigale
except that it has been retuned to suit the
streetfighter’s road bias. While prototypes are

usually camouflaged, hiding the curves and
details of the bike, this prototypes ‘pixelated’
livery, designed by Centro Stile Ducati highlights
the lines, teasing the final look of the bike.
The wraps will come off the bike at EICMA
2019 and a 2020 launch is anticipated. The
prototype flaunts winglets too! Maybe a
Streetfighter V4 R is on the cards?
