ITH THE APRIL 2020 DEADLINE
closing in, Hero MotoCorp has
become the first two-wheeler
manufacturer to get BS-VI certification, for
the Splendor iSmart.
Hero Motocorp received the Type Approval
Certificate from the International Centre for
Automotive Technology. Hero hasn’t yet
mentioned any technical or launch details.
Honda too has showcased their BS-VI-
compliant Activa 125, which now gets fuel-
injection along with a plethora of technical
updates. Though the engine specs are yet to be
revealed, the Activa 125 will be available from the
end of the second quarter of FY2019-20.

AST OCTOBER, TWENTY TWO
Motors announced their partnership
with Kymco and the venture, called
22Kymco has launched three scooters in India.
The i-Flow is the updated version of the Flow
electric scooter and retails at `90,000, the
retro-styled Like 200 is priced at `1.3 lakh and
X-Town 300i ABS carries a sticker price of
`2.3 lakh (all prices on-road).
The three scooters are slated to go on
sale from September this year in New Delhi,
Pune, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and
Hyderabad. Though the company will start with
14 dealerships in these cities, 22Kymco intends
to set up 300 dealerships across the country in
the next three years.
The i-Flow is powered by a 2.1kW motor
and has a claimed range of 80km. The Like
200 is powered by a 163cc engine developing
13.27bhp and 11.8Nm. The flagship X-Town 300i
(pictured here) is a maxi-scooter with a 276cc
fuel-injected engine generatinga good 24.16bhp
and 25Nm.
