ECO MOTORSPORT’S SHAHAN ALI MOHSIN
was in high spirits during the first round of the JK
Tyre National Karting Championship, acing the Senior
Max category of the Rotax class with a two point advantage.
Bengaluru’s Mihir Avalakki won the Junior Max category while
Peregrine’s Ishaan Madesh was in top form, winning both the
races in the Micro Max category.
Shahan won both the races earning a total of 89 points in
the Senior Max category. In close tether was Peregrine racing’s
Manav Sharma who finished second in all three of the races
and was only four points behind. The podium was rounded off
by Coimbatore’s Bala Prasath. Birel Art’s Mihir, who won the
first round of the X-30 series, maintained spectacular pace on
the two-stroke karts. Success in both the races put him on top
of the charts with 89 points in the Junior Max category while
teammate Rushon followed for a close second. Ishaan Madhesh
of Peregrine Racing held the top spot with two wins in the Micro
Max category and was trailed by Birel Art’s Ranveer Singh. L

NDIA’S FIRST ALL-WOMEN’S RACING TEAM IS THE BRAINCHILD
of former racing driver Sarosh Hataria. It is a programme that kicked-off in
2017 to find India’s fastest woman formula car drivers. The Ahura Racing
team was active at the 2018 JKNRC season too. After an extensive nation-wide
selection process this year, the team has shortlisted six women who have the potential
to participate in the popular LGB Formula 4 category of the upcoming JK Tyre National
Racing Championship 2019.
Selected to compete in the four-round racing series are Natasha Puri and Ojasvi
Mehta from Mumbai, Shivani Gaurav and Aman Jubbal from Delhi, Pragathi B from
Bangalore and Anushriya Gulati from Dehradun. L

HE COVETED FOREIGN OPEN WAS A THREE-
way title fight between TVS Racing’s CD Jinan, Abdul
Wahid Tanveer and Rugved Barguje. Jinan was at the
top of his game in both the rounds, first in Coimbatore and then
in Bangalore, earning a cumulative 80 points to dominate the
S X-1 c l a s s.
M Karan Kumar managed to pilot his Hero Impulse to finish
first in the Group C Novice class, followed by K Saravana Kumar
in second. TVS Racing’s Rajendra RE managed a third place
in the same class. Ajmera Racing’s teen titan, Yuvraj Konde
Deshmukh put in a stellar performance to win the Junior SX-1
class while Pune’s Sarthak Chavan had to settle for a second
place finish.
Jinan continued his winning streak at the second round in
Bangalore despite stiff competition. He took a while to pick up
pace with the other riders, but managed to find the right gap to
make his move to the top tier.
Ajmera Racing’s Yuvraj took yet another win in the Junior SX-1
class. Jinan enters the third round leading the championship in
the SX-1 class while Yuvraj leads the Junior SX-1 class. The first
two rounds, although chaotic, were a great success. L
