I was approached by Sharon from
Yeovil Mini Club and Associates in the
street (as Mini owners so often do!)
who pointed me in the direction of
SCS. Long story short: I haven’t looked
back since and Nicole has become a
regular visitor there over the years.
Finding a mechanic who really
knows their way around a Mini these
days is a rare fi nd indeed and Paul
New sparks go in.
That smug Robin was
totally judging Nicole.
Paul has a good
rummage around.
has got me out of more than one tight
scrape. From a snapped knuckle joint in
Yeovil’s Tesco car park to a misbehaving
immobiliser, he’s seen the old girl right.
It helps that he is currently planning
the rebuild of his own Mini at present.
So, bright and early on 1 April
(after I had managed to convince
him that Nicole being back on the
road was not some elaborate April
Fool’s prank), I blasted her up the
A303 and work got underway.
New spark plugs, a fresh fi lling of oil,
new fi lters, new grease in all the right
places and we began looking at some
of the other issues facing her. Having
had her front suspension redone, the
back is now looking noticeably tired and
the sag on the driver’s side is becoming
