Scania 92M leads a relaxed

A
s this is the Summer
issue, you won’t find
one of our Scania V8
calendar trucks, so we
decided to move in the
opposite direction and check out
one of the smaller offerings
instead. Ever since the V8 was
launched, the trucks have been
sought after but the reality is, far
more of us will have driven more
modestly-powered trucks. Scania’s
lightweight fleet workhorses, the
8/9/11 ranges, were everywhere,
but comparatively few have been
saved. It seems the smaller the
truck, the lower the survival rate.
When Aaron Catley sent us a
message about his family firm’s
92-series tractor unit, it
immediately piqued our interest;
112s and 142s are a lot rarer
than their successors, but a 92?
To be honest, we can’t remember
the last time we saw one that
wasn’t shunter-spec.
