THE FIRST of the two Combe races in

successive months was held over the shorter

route, a lap of three miles and 1585 yards,

and saw Dan Blake lead home top veteran

James Bolton, Martin Duff reports.

After missing the previous round of the

five-race series, the Oxford man wound up

just four seconds clear of his rival with 20:38.

Regular Mota-Vation winner Diane Foster,

who has also missed the previous round,

returned for another victory, this time over

Edwina Colclough, in 25:07.
