MULTI-TERRAIN

JUNE 30
NORTH DOWNS 30, INC British Masters
Championships, Guildford, Surrey
ED BOVINGTON won overall for Istead & Ifield
but there were good performances down the
field as the British Masters championships
were held within the event, Martin Duff reports.
Top in that was leading M45 Malcolm Muir
in 2:09:56, with Alan Smalls taking the M50
title with 2:11:34.
Kent AC’s W35 Amy Clements was the
first across the line among the women, to
complete a hat-trick of wins in the race, in
2:14:35, albeit nearly two minutes slower than
her 2018 victory because of the hotter weather.
Clements was not entered in the veterans’
championship race, which had only 11
participants – seven of whom took home
gold medals.
