MY STORY

thigh as hard as I could. I tried to gasp,
“Help me!” But my voice was hoarse,
possibly from swallowing some of the
salt water, and all I could do was make
weird sounds.
The girl screamed, not only did I
take her by surprise
but as she tried to pull
my arms from her leg,
I wouldn’t let go. What
must she have thought?
The people she was
with came to her aid
and I managed to utter
the words, “Help, rip,
help!” They realised I
was in trouble and I felt
strong hands under my
arms as they dragged me to the shore.
They got me onto the wet sand and
rolled me over. I was trying to get my
breath back as the lifeguards came
and put an oxygen mask on my nose
and mouth. I closed my eyes, and let
everyone take care of me.
My relationship with the sea would
never be the same again.

suddenly as the rip pulled me out
to sea, I was being pulled towards
the shore, fast, very fast, in fact I
had to focus to keep my head
above the water. The sensation was
like I was being dragged in by an
unknown entity.
As I got closer to
shore, I began to feel
hope that I was going to
be OK, but all of this had
taken its toll. I was weak
and my body was like
jelly. I had no strength
left and could barely
breaststroke by this
stage, so I just went with
the flow. The people
on the beach were becoming closer
and closer as the waves towed me
towards the shore.
There was a young girl in a yellow
bikini in my line of sight. She must
have been about 16 years old and was
jumping the small waves with her
friends. As I got near enough to her
I grabbed onto her leg, hugging her

that was pushed through their front door letterbox
by someone who owed them money.
Ozzie ate eight £20 notes worth over $200. The vet’s bill
to induce vomiting came to another £170.FOX NEWS
