White Man You are Surrounded is a compact survey
of the work of Alice Springs artist Rod Moss.
For over three decades, Moss has chronicled the
“parallel universes” (as he puts it) of white and
Aboriginal Australia in the central desert region
around Alice Springs. His monumental figurative
works capture indelibly both the vastness of the
desert landscape and the eerie dissonance between
the two cultures. Often drawing on images from old
Master paintings, these works are a questioning and
poignant exploration of a cultural divide at the heart
