Salvatore Ferragamo / TATLER FOCUS

As the founder of French restaurant
Maison ES and private dining space
Ta Pantry, Esther Sham is no stranger
to multitasking. The model-turned-chef
juggles a demanding professional career
and a busy family life, as a wife and mother
of two young boys. Despite her inevitably
challenging schedule, she’s always seen
impeccably dressed at the city’s most
exclusive parties.
“My go-to outfit when in a rush in the
morning is a plain T-shirt with a pair of chic
trousers,” she says. “My wardrobe is filled
with countless white T-shirts, but I still don’t
feel I have enough.” For the evening, Esther
swears by a suit jacket. “I can dress it up
with heels but also wear it with sneakers for
casual occasions.”
As a modern woman on the go with an
unwavering sense of style, Esther is the
epitome of the modern Salvatore Ferragamo
woman. The chef gravitates towards clothes
that are sleek, practical and versatile, and
which reflect her busy lifestyle. “I tend to
play safe when I’m in a rush,” she says. “I’ll
keep it simple in terms of colour choice, and
then throw on accessories, like a hat or a pair
of sunglasses.”
Her appreciation for detail draws Esther
to the work of Ferragamo creative director
Paul Andrew. A favourite look of hers from
the Ferragamo pre-fall 2019 collection is an
ensemble in grey and black. “Look 9 stood
out to me. I love the masculine bomber
jacket that mixes leather and ribbed knit,
styled with a feminine pleated skirt. It’s the
perfect contrast.” n
