Finding
connection
Travelling with
others offers the perfect
opportunity for bonding and
quality time together. It’s
natural to be interested in
different things, so talk about
the activities you want to
experience together before you
go. A solo trip doesn’t
necessarily mean a lonely trip.
There are so many ways to
meet people: book a group
tour, talk to locals, reconnect
with friends abroad, and keep
your eye out for other solo
travellers.

A chance to heal

When your body is out of kilter, the idea of an active holiday can sound like an
absolute nightmare. If you’re struggling with things like sleep issues, body aches,
stress and headaches, forget about biking and hiking and opt for a relaxing getaway
that will leave you feeling replenished. There are all sorts of retreats and
accommodation options around the world that offer healing therapies such as
massage, spas, yoga, meditation, time in nature and organic food.

A great way to see the world and get plenty of bang for
your buck is to book yourself on a cruise. It’s a
particularly good option if you want a stress-free lead
up to your holiday as you’ll avoid much of the hard
work around having to organise numerous bookings
and payments for flights, taxis, accommodation – not
to mention daily food and activities once you’ve
arrived. A cruise package means you’ve covered all your
bases in one booking. You simply have to show up.
Travelling on the water can be a very peaceful way to
move between destinations, more so than a cramped
plane cabin – especially if you’re not a fan of flying

  • and it also means avoiding airport hassles. Instead of
being stuck in a seat for the long-haul, you can enjoy a

proper bed, elegant dining, spa treatments, gym
facilities, drinks at the bar, or a dip in the pool. Many
liners also offer activities to keep little ones
entertained too.
Upon disembarking in each port, you’re free to
explore on your own or join the on-shore excursions
offered by the cruise company. Suites are generally
equipped with a lockable safe to store any valuables
and when it’s time for the next location, your
accommodation comes along with you, saving time on
packing and unpacking bags or lugging them from
place to place. This can mean more time enjoying the
company of your friends, family or partner, or even
forming new friendships with fellow cruisers.
