Hair heroes
Just as the sun, surf and sand
can wreak havoc on our locks,
so too can winter weather –
but thankfully it’s nothing
that an intense hydration
treatment won’t fix. Hair masks
are designed to give your hair
a burst of goodness and can be
tailored to your hair concerns –
anything from colour damage to
sensitive scalp issues to frizziness,
which can be a common winter hair
problem. Taking the time to use a hair
mask will bring immediate results, as well as
cumulative benefits when used over time. Why not try
alternating your at-home hair treatments with an in-salon
experience? While they’re an added investment, your hair
will love the high concentration of ingredients and benefits
that salon technology will offer.

Try: Pureology Strength Cure Superfood Treatment,
$52; and Lush Marilyn Hot Oil Treatment, $14.90.

Get lippy
Lips often feel the hardship of colder
months, because of the climate changes
from outside to inside. We can be caught
licking our lips more in a bid to moisturise
them, which only leads to them becoming
drier and chapped. To soothe sore lips,
there are a couple of steps we can take,
starting with exfoliating your lips – yes, it’s
a thing. Lip scrubs are much like body
scrubs in the sense that they help to banish dry patches and soften
the skin while also removing any flaky bits. Another must-have is to
keep a balm on hand to keep lips nourished and hydrated, which
helps to reduce the chance of lips chapping. There’s a
multitude of balms available that will keep your lips
cared for when it’s chilly outside.

Try: Lush Bubblegum
Lip Scrub, $12.90;
Trilogy Everything Balm,
$27.99; Dr. Hauschka Lip
Balm, $30; and Burt’s Bees
Vanilla Bean Moisturising Lip
Balm, $8.99.
