time boyfriend

Chandler Powell after he

popped the question at

the Australia Zoo on her

21st birthday. “I said ‘yes’

and ‘forever’ to the love

of my life,” the lovestruck

conservationist gushed

on Instagram. “Chandler,

close to six years ago, I fell

in love with you and every

day since has been a

whirlwind of adventure

and true happiness.” Just

like her parents Terri and

Steve Irwin, Bindi met

her future husband, 22, at

the Australia Zoo — and

while the beloved Croc-

odile Hunter, who tragi-

cally passed away in 2006

following a stingray at-

tack, never got to meet the

American wakeboarder,

“my mum says that Dad

would’ve loved him,” the

Dancing With the Stars

champ told Life & St yle.

“Bindi’s sad that Steve

isn’t around to see her so

happy and grown up but

knows he’s watching from

above,” shares a source.

“He’d be beyond proud

of his daughter if he were

alive today.” Bindi and her

betrothed have done their

best to carry on his legacy,

whether it ’s promoting

the Wildlife Warriors

foundation or embark-

ing on crocodile research

trips — and their Down
