her marriage

irst came the news
that Brendan
McLoughlin — Mi-
randa Lambert’s husband
of six months — was on an
“authorized leave of ab-
sence” from his job as an
NYPD officer. Two days
later on July 21, the coun-
try music star revealed
they’d been spending time
in Lake Tahoe, where she’d
performed earlier in the
week. “A great show and
a few really cool days off!

Miranda captioned an
Instagram slideshow — in-
cluding a hot shot of herself
in a bikini with her shirt-
less husband — highlight-
ing the gorgeous scenery.
It mig ht have looked
like paradise, but multi-
ple sources say that be-
hind the scenes, Miranda’s
turning into the wife from
hell. Though she loves that
Brendan, 27, is a cop (her
dad was one, too), ever
since they got married in
January less than three
months after they met, Mi-
randa, 35, has had to split
her time between Tennes-
see and NYC — when re-
ally she wants Brendan
with her all the time. So
she made Brendan ask for
an extended break from
work, Life & St yle has exclu-
sively learned. “Mirandawas on his case trying to
convince him to leave the
NYPD since day one,” ex-
plains a source. “She wants
him to be completely on her
schedule and by her side
even when she’s traveling.”NEW RULES
Life has changed dramat-
ically for Brendan. While
he no longer has to wor-
ry about money with
$45 million woman Mi-
randa, he’s also “gone from
protecting the streets of
NYC to being a house hus-
band who cooks dinner
and does the wash,” ex-
plains an insider. “Heloves his job but what Mi-
randa wants Miranda
gets. She’s in control.”
Even when it comes to his
free time. Brendan “barely
sees his pals anymore,”
adds the insider. “He has
to get her permission.”
Trust is a factor. Staten
Island native Brendan fa-
thered 8-month-old son
Landon while engaged
to another woman (who
dumped him when she
found out). “He’s cheat-
ed in the past,” says the
source, “and Miranda just
doesn’t feel comfortable
having him in NYC with-
out her, knowing his exesand all of his party buddies
are there.”
To keep him close 24/7,
Miranda now wants to
employ her studly spouse.
“She told Brendan that
she’d make him her head
of security and pay him
way more money,” says
the source, adding that
the scenario isn’t what
his family envisioned for
the decorated police offi-
cer. “It’s just one more way
of Miranda controlling
the relationship. She has
money and power and uses
it to keep the upper hand
on people — including her

walk,” says a tipster. “There was some
sort of tension between them.”
