Need to
know...
The cardigan is worked
seamlessly from the bottom
up. After a ribbed cuff, sleeves
are worked in the round with
tapered increases. Fronts
and back are worked lat in
one piece to the underarms,
beginning with a ribbed hem
and continuing with a cabled
panel at front edges. Body and
sleeves are then joined and
raglan decreases are worked on
the yoke, ending with a ribbed
neckband. Sts are picked up for
button bands and underarms
are grafted with Kitchener
stitch. Although the body is
worked lat, a circular needle is
necessary to accommodate the
large number of sts.
Some knitters ind that they knit
more tightly when working St
st in the round. Work swatches
both lat and in the rnd and
compare the tensions. You may
need to go up a needle size for
the sleeves.
