Pretty elf
After knitting lots of
gifts for Christmas,
I decided to make
something for
myself – Tinsel the Elf from
issue 79 , using yarn I bought
from a local charity shop. I
love knitting (and crochet) and
as I have a grandchild due in
June, my needles will be extra
busy. I learned to knit when I
was about 20, so have been
knitting for 40 years now!

knit something for ourselves
now and then, Sheena!

Hats off
I knitted these hats for
a charity, St Petrock’s,
who help the homeless
near me in Exeter.
They’re my own
pattern and I use DK. I
also knit for a preemie
baby charity called
7X+ISVKIŭWMR0SRHSRERHEPWS
toys to sell in my local wool shop.
Bea Richards
Lucy says How kind-hearted of
you, Bea – your hats are lovely.

Party ready
Since having to leave
work due to health
problems, I have more
time for my hobby. This
pattern is by Karen Ashton-
Mills of I*believe*in*angels
and I used James C Brett
Twinkle DK in red and King
Cole Moments DK fur yarn.

festive party, Cindy – so pretty!

Hooded cables
I knitted this cabled jacket for
a friend’s grandson. I just love
making small things and how
could you not love a cable? It’s a
King Cole pattern from Baby Book
4 and it’s knitted in Stylecraft DK.
Liz Fitzer
Lucy says Someone’s going
to be a handsome boy in that
gorgeous jacket, Liz!

Winter warmer
I made this cape set for a
friend using Marriner DK
and Sirdar Funky Fur. The
pattern is from Kadie Jade
Knitting Designs. I knit for
family and friends, and I
send cardigans and hats to
my local hospital’s neonatal
ward and I make poppies to
raise money for The Royal
British Legion.
