D

espite the wet, windy and snowy
weather showing no signs of letting
up as I write this, surely it’s time
we were welcoming spring? And so, this
issue’s Layered Peonies die and stamp
set is the perfect tonic for SCP.
Sarah Gray’s layered lovelieson page 9 have lled us with hopeful
thoughts that warmer weather is on the way, whilst Helen Grif n’s
keepsake and giftwrap ideas (page 64) have us planning presents
for the spring birthdays in our familes!
Once again we’ve gone crazy for brand-new releases and are bringing
you makes using the latest launches from Hero Arts, Birch Press,
Crafter’s Companion and TheTon.
As usual we couldn’t resist bringing you plenty of themed seasonal
features too – our top pick this issue is our Best of British feature over
on page 82 – bringing together some of our all-time favouriteIndigoBlu
stamps with a sneak peek of the rather special vintage stamp set from
our issue 84 sister title Creative Stamping, timed perfectly for the
75th anniversary of VE Day.
But if it’s technique inspiration you’re after, we’ve got that covered
too! Claire Rhodes-Brandon’s masterclass feature on page 50 shows
how you can perfectly nd a new use for the basic nesting dies in
your stash.
This month’s Tried and Tested feature from Ingrid Vichova on page 20
sees her putting the WRMK Foil Quill Freestyle Pen through its paces
and you’ll be foiling in no time with her expert hints, tips and advice.
But that’s not all, we’ve got baby-themed cards from Clearly Besotted
on page 43, digital downloads from Time For Tea Designs (page 74) and
an Easter-themed Sketch Challenge on page 46 – download the sketch
from http://www.simplycardsmag.com to try it our for yourself.
With all of this, plus the usual competitions, news, shopping and
giveaways plus readers’ letters and cards, I think I’ll leave you to it.
Happy cardmaking,

Becky
