7 Here is the same layer ipped
around – this is what it looks
like after colouring – you’ll
notice using the Posca
pens makes colouring more
controllable for little details.

9 With the panels still in place,
use them as a guide to
stamp the rst bird image
where desired. Using a clear
stamp for this helps with the
positioning of the image but
isn’t necessary.

8 Place two of the acrylic layers
together on top o the MDF
to see the layering effect
taking shape. Do this often
as it highlights where to
add more details and where
needs lling.

5 Stamp owers onto one
of the acrylic layers using
StãzOn ink – each acrylic
layer comes with a protective
 lm on either side so
remember to remove it
before you start stamping!

6 Turn the acrylic panel over
and colour the back of the
image using Posca pens –
don’t be worried what it looks
like at this stage – remember
you will not be showing this
side of the layer.

10 Turn over the layer and
colour on the back – don’t
worry if you make a mistake
as you can very gently scrape
away any Posca pen colours
with your ngernail. Repeat
for the other bird, stamping
on a separate acrylic layer.

11 Add a sentiment and place
all the layers together to
see if anything else needs
adding. Fasten the stack with
the nuts and bolts to nish.

1 The panel stack consists
of three acrylic layers (one
thicker than the other two),
an MDF layer, plus four
nuts and bolts to securely
fasten the stack together
when completed.

IN-DEPTH HOW TO: create your acrylic panel stack

4 As this layer is MDF you can
comfortably heat-emboss on
it. Just draw random dots and
lines, cover them with the
gold embossing powder and
use your heat tool to set it.

3 Start building up extra depth
for the background with
the addition of hand-drawn
sketchy leaves, as well as
de ning the brickwork with
a black pen.

2 Work from the back to the
front of the stack, so start
with the MDF panel as your
base and cover it with blue
acrylic paint. Add details
using the brick stencil and
brown acrylic paint.

Always
use a
StãzOn inkpad when
you're stamping on any
acrylic as it’s fast drying

Be sure to have a bottle of
StãzOn cleaner handy to
not only clean the stamps
straight away after using
StãzOn ink, but so you can
also remove a stamped
image from acrylic with
a dab of it on a scrap of
cloth too
