Amity International School (AIS) Noida
emerged winners at the Amity’s Youth
Power Programme that concluded
recently. AIS Mayur Vihar and AIS Guru-
gram 4 were jointly declared as Ƽrst
runners-up, while AIS Saket bagged the
second runners-up position at the 11th
edition of the year-long social sensitizing
leadership programme. The programme
is an intensive learning experience that
prepares students to be catalysts for
social change. It has nurtured over 500
ethical leaders and sensitized more than
one lakh students on various issues.

On the occasion of International Yoga
Day, the Akshaya Patra Foundation in
partnership with Bengaluru-based health
and Ƽtness startup Yo2Yoga conducted
yoga sessions for over 4,000 students in
21 Government schools across Bengalu-
ru to educate them about the beneƼts of
yoga. It was organised as a part of Aksh-
aya Patra’s School and Student Transfor-
mation initiative and supported by AIKYA,
the foundation’s youth volunteering wing.
Akshaya Patra intends to introduce yoga
sessions based on the prescribed guide-
lines of Ministry of Ayush in schools for
the academic year in partnership with
Yo2Yoga. Yoga will be made a key com-
ponent of morning assembly and teach-
ers will be trained for the purpose in the
long run. The move is expected to result
in improvement in posture, concentration
and overall health of the students.

NZ, one of the world’s largest multi-national banks, and Embassy Office Parks,
India’s first and only listed Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT), have come
together to support primary education among local communities in Karnataka. The
two entities along with the Government of Karnataka’s education department have
built a state-of-the-art primary school with a capacity of 650 pupils at Hegdenagar,
Bengaluru. The school houses 15 classrooms, a multipurpose hall, library, computer
lab, well-maintained toilet blocks and accessibility facility for differently-abled stu-
dents. S. R. Umashankar, Principal Secretary to Primary and Secondary Education,
Government of Karnataka, and senior officials from ANZ and Embassy Office Parks
were present at the inauguration. The Government Higher Primary School Hegde-
nagar will continue to benefit from the educational programmes run by the Embassy
group and its partners.
