QUERY
OF THE
MONTH
Q. In terms of placement, which course
is better -- BSc in Physiotherapy or BSc
in Radiology and Imaging Technology?
Avinash Kumar, Bihar
A. Basically, it all depends on your interest
and what you want to pursue. Both the streams
have great scope and have equal opportunities.
You can go for a 4-year Bachelor in Physio
Therapy (BPT) programme along with six
months’ internship in a hospital. Eligibility
is 10+2 in science with Biology as a subject.
The eligibilty is the same for 3-year BSc in
Radiology and Imaging Technology. After
successfully completing the programme, you
can get a job in hospitals, diagnostic settings
and clinics. Placements, are good in both the
streams. Good luck!
Q. What is the scope for BSc (Microbiol-
ogy) in India? Harman Oberoi, Punjab
A. The scope of microbiology is huge because
of its involvement in various fields such as
pharmacy, medicine, clinical research,
agriculture, dairy industry, water industry,
nanotechnology and chemical technology.
With a degree in microbiology, you can
get opportunities in various avenues like
healthcare organizations, forensic science
laboratories, environmental organizations,
higher education institutions etc. All the best!
