International Institute of Information Technology, Naya Raipur
(IIIT-NR) launched integrated B.Tech and M.Tech programmes in
(ata 7 cience and %rtiƼcial Intelligence from the academic year
-. This maOes IIIT-NR to Fe the Ƽrst institute in India to offer
both B.Tech and M.Tech programs in this fast emerging, futuristic
technologies. The programs are designed to produce students with
strong foundation in disruptive technologies like Data Science, Arti-
Ƽcial Intelligence and Machine 0 earning, said Dr. 4 radeep /. Sinha,

dvancing its commitment to building a future-ready workforce, Microsoft recently
announced the launch of AI Digital Labs along with 10 higher educational institutions
in the country. The institutes covered under this program include BITS Pilani, BML Mun-
jal University, ISB, Kalpataru Institute of Technology, KL University, Periyar University,
Karunya University, SRM University, SVKM (NMIMS) and Trident Academy of Technol-
ogy. Speaking on the occasion, Anant Maheshwari, President, Microsoft India, said, “As AI
becomes mainstream, organizations will require talent with skillsets that are very different
from what exists now. Educators and institutions are integral to the skilling revolution taking
root in the country." Microsoft is helping to prepare students and the nation’s workforce to
move effectively from the classroom to 21st-century careers.

IIT Bhubaneswar has started a battery-operated vehicle service as
part of its initiative to promote a greener ecosystem and a pollution-
free atmosphere inside its campus. The institution will levy nominal
charges for the service in a bid to make it affordable and convenient
for the campus residents. Initially, three vehicles will be operational
within the campus during the Ƽrst phase. The service will increase
depending on future requirements.

IIT Delhi and National Chiao Tung
University (NCTU), Taiwan, have
recently signed an MoU to establish
and offer a Joint Doctoral Degree
Programme. On successful comple-
tion of the programme, including the
thesis, the institutions aim to award
the degree to the students jointly. The
MoU was signed jointly by Prof. V.
Ramgopal Rao, Director, IIT Delhi,
and Prof. Mau-Chung Frank Chang,
President, NCTU Taiwan. Speak-
ing on the occasion, Prof. Rao said,
“This is an important milestone in IIT
Delhi’s internationalization efforts. I
hope that in next one or two years we
will reach a triple-digit figure in terms
of student enrolment under this pro-
gramme with NCTU.”
