With a categlogue of materials readily available from the local

building supply depot, including the much-loved PVC piping

• here elevated to a pattern – making finish material, stamped
  aluminium panelling, shiny black tiles, gridded steel mesh, and
  so on. Concrete floors, blackened ceilings, economical light
  fixtures and Alibaba-ready furniture. The tiny venue is a lively
  dance of colour and shape, ideal for scarfing down a burger on
  the run.

WHY

Because burgers still rule. Because colour

contrasts still work. Because orange goes with

the new black. Because you can’t spend a fortune

on a burger joint that may change hands in a year

or two. Because good designers never need

huge budgets.
