contract of Belgian coach RONNY VAN
GENEUGDEN at the end of his two-year
tenure with the national team.

Cannavaro appointed
China boss...for now
FABIO CANNAVARO was
announced as the coach of
China ahead of the recent China
Cup tournament, succeeding
Marcello Lippi.
Italy’s 2006 World Cup-winning
captain also retained his position in
charge of Chinese Super League
side Guangzhou Evergrande, while
Lippi stayed on as an advisor for
the China Cup.
China finished fourth in the
four-team tournament, behind
Uruguay, Thailand and Uzbekistan.
The Chinese FA has yet to
confirm whether Cannavaro will
be appointed on a full-time basis.
