Row 1: With gray heather, ch 8,
working in back bar of ch (see
illustration), sc in 2nd ch from
hook, [ch 1, sk next ch, sc in next
ch] across, turn. (4 sc, 3 ch-1 sps)

At end of last row, fasten off.

FIRST SIDE (RIGHT OF CENTER)

2nd Stripe
Row 1: With soft white, pull up
lp in end of ch on Center Stripe
at bottom right according to
Assembly Diagram, ch 1, sc in
same ch as beg ch-1 and in end
of each row across, turn. (83 sc)
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in first st, [ch 1,
sk next st, sc in next st] across,
turn.
Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each st and
in each ch-1 sp across, turn.
Rows 4 & 5: Rep rows 2 and 3.
At end of last row, fasten off.

3rd Stripe
Row 1: With warm brown, pull
up lp in first sc on last row of
2nd Stripe, ch 1, sc in each st
across, turn.
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in first st,

in next st] across to last 2 sts, sk
