HOW I

STAY F IT

WITH JODHI MEARES

The fashion powerhouse speaks to wellness editor
Lucy E Cousins about yoga, self-care and her dog, Soda Pop

What does being healthy mean to you?
“A sense of peace ... but not putting too
much pressure on yourself to achieve
that 100 per cent of the time. I think
it needs to be done with a sense of joy,

wellness movement ever since I was
a model in my teens, but it has now

grill to such a degree that I think
it can become less beneficial to

t 17 she launched Reebok
into Australia as a model,
then created much-loved
swimwear brand Tigerlily,
fronted Australia’s Next
To p Mo d e l with Alex Perry, and went
on to found one of Australia’s most
well-known activewear brands, The
Upside. But when I catch-up with
former model and designer Jodhi
Meares, she has the flu ... laughing at
the irony of us talking about “wellness”.
It’s this down-to-earth sense that
has made her one of the more relatable
celebs I’ve interviewed. Plus she calls
her dog – a huge Great Dane-cross-
French mastiff named Soda Pop – her
wellness guru. (“She’s my bestie.”)
Here she shares her go-to yoga moves
for spring, and her wellbeing style.
