Party National President in July 2014 after the BJP-
led National Democratic Alliance won the General
Elections in May 2014 and formed the government at
the centre. While Shri Rajnath Singh was the President
of BJP in 2014, Shri Amit Shah was appointed as
National President after Shri Rajnath Singh joined the
government and became the Union Home Minister.
As per informations Shri Amit Shah will continue
as BJP President till the organizational elections
are over. All organizational elections at the block,
district, state and national levels of the Party will be
conducted hereafter. A fresh membership drive was
also undertaken. The leadership has set a target
to increase membership by 20 percent in all the
states and party National President Shri Amit Shah
appointed BJP National Vice President and former
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh
Chouhan as the National Membership Pramukh of

An enthusiastic welcome awaited Shri JP Nadda when
he reached the BJP National Headquarters in New
Delhi. BJP National President Shri Amit Shah and other
senior leaders of the party greeted him with flowers.
Before taking charge both Shri Amit Shah and Shri
JP Nadda paid tributes to Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya
and Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee in the party
headquarters.
