CWD face across their range.
Also from Bedfordshire, although shot
while stalking, C. Higginson presented a CWD
buck that also sits in the top three, scoring
270 points.
The CIC UKTEB has recently welcomed SITJ
Larry Taaffe into our group. Larry, who is
based in the Republic of Ireland, will continue
to principally evaluate trophies in Ireland, as
well as in Northern Ireland as a member of the
UKTEB. Larry has been a senior international
trophy judge since 2016 and started
evaluating trophies for the CIC in 2014. By the

time you are reading this, he will have

attended the Northern Irish Game Fair at

Shanes Castle; for those of you who didn’t

attend, it’s one to remember for the future.

As reported last month, in a change to our

usual location at The Game Fair, we will be

hosted by Marc Newton and his team on the

John Rigby & Co stand. To mark this new

location, handmade knifesmiths Emberleaf

have produced a special edition knife with the

Rigby logo on one side of the blade and the

CIC logo on the other. Every owner whose

head achieves a medal, measured by the CIC

on the Rigby stand at The Game Fair, will be

entered into a free prize draw to win the knife.

One entry per owner, and the winner will be

drawn by a member of the Rigby team at the

end of the final day of the show.
