Africa’s Bowhunter – August 2019

I

am one of the lucky ones to be able to live, work and play
in the environment that many of us love. It takes a lot of
dedication, hard work and perseverance to muscle through
the tough times. Bow hunting is my ultimate passion, hobby
and work, but I am just as passionate about the rif le. Bow hunt-
ing for me is just a lot more challenging, mentally, technically
and for the mere purpose of just watching the smaller things in

nature.
We own a farm with wildlife as our main source of
income. I have developed this farm to accommodate bow
hunters to the point that we no longer use rif les here
except to follow up on wounded animals. It is here that I
have a stable sounder of bush pigs from which we harvest
boars on a regular basis.

solitude and being one with the great outdoors. As society develops and the world around us
changes we start losing the “feeling” of primitive instincts of hunting and gathering – after all,
these days we live in a world of instant gratification.
