Netflix, the year’s top grossing
iPhone app. That’s around £
million. Of the top 10, seven were
video streaming/sharing apps.
And half of the top 10 apps were
Chinese-owned.

> Number of jobs in Europe attributable to the App Store
ecosystem, of which 291,000 are in the UK. In the US it’s
1.53m and in China it’s 1.4m.

> Proportion of apps on the App Store that are games. That’s over
2.5 times more than the second-highest category (business at 9.8%)
and four times more than entertainment (6%). 35% of smartphone
users have no games on their device.
