You can now get the Apple TV app on

Samsung, Sony and LG TVs. Is that enough

to tempt you to buy one? It’s tempting me!

I’ve been thinking of updating my smart TV,

and I’d love the Apple TV app. I’m going to see

if I can bag a bargain on one of the 2018

models and update the firmware.

I already own a Samsung smart TV and an

Apple TV 4K, so won’t be upgrading yet!

It’s definitely an exciting development –

although it does makes you wonder how long

Apple will continue to sell its own Apple TV

hardware for after this.

I think it’s a good move – and if Apple can

come up with the goods in terms of original

programming and movies, I’d be happy to sign

up for a sub – but can it compete with Netflix?

I hope so, but I love that I can also watch my

existing purchases, and buy or rent new

content and watch it on all my devices.

I’m thinking about it! Having one less box

under the telly is tempting, but then I don’t

use my Apple TV for gaming, just streaming.

Yeah, I wondered that – it feels like it’s going

to go the way of AirPort and Time Capsule,

and that’s not a necessarily a good thing!
