inspired by this month’s
writing app round-up
(p88), she’s got around to
starting that novel. Only
49 chapters to go.

Paul’s been enjoying a
trip down memory lane,
this month, selecting
images of classic Apple
gear for our Jony Ive

One of the best things about owning a
Mac, iPhone, iPad or any of the other
devices in the Apple ecosystem, is the
way they work seamlessly together
- and that’s thanks, in part, to iCloud,
Apple’s cloud computing service.
Log in with your Apple ID on
any of your devices and you’re
able to sync, access and share your
documents, photos and data across
them all – or at least that’s the theory.
In our superguide, starting on p20, you’ll discover the ways
iCloud can help you do all these things, along with some top
tips and tricks to help you make the most of the service, while
also keeping your precious iCloud data secure.
You probably will have heard by now that Jony Ive,
legendary Apple designer and the man who gave us the iMac,
iPhone and more, is moving on. On p62 we look back at some
of his greatest hits, plus the odd miss (‘hockey puck’ mouse,
anyone?) – we’d love to know what your favourites are.
As ever, this issue is packed with fantastic ways to help you
make the most of your Apple devices, whether it’s backing up
your Mac with Time Machine, editing videos in iMovie or
revealing more hidden iOS 12 secrets. The fun starts on p37.
Finally, check out this month’s Choice section, p77: you’ll
find reviews of the latest hardware and software including the
new iPod touch and a smart TV with the Apple TV app built in.
