JULY-SEPTEMBER: Musiikki
Café. The Musiikki Café, 73
Brock Street, has open mic night
every Tuesday evening starting at
8 p.m. Regular live entertainment
at the Café includes Khira
Wieting from 3 to 5 p.m., and
the Lotus Shaker band at 8 p.m.
on Sundays; Monday Jazz at
8 p.m.; and the Goodnight
Irenes, playing original and
traditional folk, bluegrass, blues,
classic country and more on
Wednesdays at 8 p.m. This little

the Park. Free lunchtime
concerts will be held on the
outdoor stage in Confederation
Park across from City Hall on

Confederation Park on Thursdays
from 7 to 8 p.m. Listen to a
free Big Band concert in the
Springer Market Square
courtyard on Fridays from 7 to
8 p.m. Be entertained by Silly
Sounds on Sydenham, with
special concerts for children,
from 10 to 11 a.m., and Sounds
on Sydenham at 1:30 to

JULY-SEPTEMBER: The Cove Inn.
Every Sunday on the patio
(12:30 to 3:30 p.m.), the Cove
Country Inn in Westport hosts
the vocal/guitar duo Head over
Heels. Based in Gananoque, the
veteran singer-songwriter-guitarist
Kevin Head and vocalist Vanessa
Head perform a diverse mix of
original music and interpreted
covers of well-loved folk, jazz,
classic rock and contemporary
tunes. Guitar player, singer,
alternative lyricist Shawn
McCullough breaks up your
week on Wednesday nights from
7 to 10 p.m. with Rack ’n Tunes
+ The Open Mic. Every Thursday
from 8 to 11 p.m. is Jazz Night
with the Spencer Evans Trio,
with Andy Love on drums and
vocals, Seamus Cowan on bass
and vocals, and Spencer Evans
on piano, clarinet and vocals.

JULY-AUGUST: Barefoot Players.
The Barefoot Players, an exciting
and zany local theatre company
made up of talented Queen’s
students, will be shaking things
up with a production tailored
especially for young audiences.
Their upcoming show is entitled
“Stories of We,” which explores
what makes us human through
stories from around the world.
You will love this show!
Performances start in June and
continue until mid-August in
various schools, libraries, parks
and public forums and at special
summer events in Kingston and

the Lion.The popular revival of
dinner theatre lands in Perth; on
Tuesdays (dinner at 5 p.m. and
performance at 6 p.m.), the
Classic Theatre Festival’s Classic
Dinner Theatre and Michael’s
Table present George Bernard
Shaw’s hilarious satire on the
Roman Empire as seen through
the eyes of a Christian slave
and a very different “king of the
forest.” Enjoy a three-course meal
along with theatre performed
by some of the region’s most
talented up-and-coming
performers. New this year are
