Each week has a theme. And
campers have the opportunity

Dorset Drawings. In partnership
with Print Inuit, Studio 22 will
be featuring a special exhibition
of Cape Dorset drawings.
These original drawings by
four northern women artists
— Ooloosie Saila, Nicotye
Samayualie, Padloo Samayualie
and Ningiukulu Teevee — are
selected and curated by Ellen
Fraser of Print Inuit. This is a
wonderful opportunity for new
and experienced collectors to
look beyond the familiar print
work of these Cape Dorset

JULY 16: Butterflies Galore: A
Pollinator Garden Afternoon.
It’s a Demo Day at the Allan
Macpherson House & Park in
Napanee. At 2 p.m., join the
Lennox & Addington Stewardship
Council as it hosts this afternoon
for families. Come and learn
more about our native butterflies
and how to create a pollinator
garden. Maya Navrot of Quinte
Conservation will make a
presentation on pollinator-
friendly yards. A children’s
workshop will also be offered,
where the kids will learn about
bees and butterflies through
games and activities. Demo
Days on various topics take
place Tuesday and Thursday
in July and August; admission

JULY 17-AUGUST 28: World
Heritage Sunset Ceremonies.

The world-famous, award-
winning Sunset Ceremonies
feature the Fort Henry Guard
Drums, Drill Squad and Artillery
Detachments presenting an
interpretive story of 1860s
military music and drill along
with artillery manoeuvres and a
simulated battle. Cutting-edge
technology allows Fort Henry to
present a redesigned show that
embraces a new, action-packed
story line. The show is a tribute
to the original garrison, to each
of the subsequent military units
stationed at Fort Henry and to
today’s Canadian Forces. The
ceremony runs every Wednesday
in July and August for about
90 minutes starting at 7:30 p.m.
at Fort Henry National Historic

JULY 17, AUGUST 14, :
Carpentry Camp: Lake Freighter.
This fun camp at the MacLachlan
Woodworking Museum is for 6-
to-12-year-olds, either for the
morning session from 9:30 a.m.
to 12:30 p.m. or in the afternoon
from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Kids stay
busy making this long freighter
full of “cargo,” while learning
woodworking skills with
instructor Majella Turcotte. They
will produce a custom wooden
piece to take home and show off.
Bring a snack, water, sunscreen
and a hat. The cost is $30. For

JULY 17: Sandfest.At Sandbanks
Provincial Park’s mouth of the
Outlet River, Sandfest is sand-
sculpting fun for the whole
family from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

for everyone. This event is
organized by the Friends of
Sandbanks to support the
maintenance, enhancement
and protection of this unique
natural wonder.
