The Princess Street Promenade, established in 2010, is an exciting street festival that promotes active living and
community involvement. This year’s summer Promenade will take place on Saturday, August 3, and the fall Promenade
will take place on Saturday, September 28, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Princess Street will be closed to vehicles from
Division Street to Ontario Street (with the exception of Ontario, Bagot
and Barrie Streets) so that visitors can stroll down Kingston’s beautiful
main street at their leisure and enjoy a variety of free entertainment and
activities. The Promenade has become one of the most anticipated
events for Kingstonians and their out-of-town guests.
Downtown merchants, restaurants and community groups set up on
the street in tents or at curbside tables. There will be great shopping
deals, delicious food samples offered by local restaurants, interesting
demonstrations presented by local organizations, games, freebies and prizes. There will be face-painting
and many other activities that appeal to the entire family. This active, entertaining and highly popular event
celebrates Kingston’s vibrant downtown core and its one-of-a-kind boutiques and eateries. Take to the streets!
Explore car-free Princess Street and enjoy the lively atmosphere of our unique downtown. http://www.downtownkingston.ca.
