conceal pit
perspiration!
You started the season with such
optimism: relieved to lose the heavy
clothing layers and feel the sun’s warmth
on your skin, excited to absorb some
natural vitamin D and more than ready
for a youthful, sun-kissed glow. But
come August, your strands are frizzy,
your clothes are stained with sweat
and—ouch—your chafed thighs and
sunburned cheeks hurt. We hear you!
That’s why we went straight to the
pros for their expert tips to solving and
preventing any skin, hair and fashion
bothers so you can power through the
dog days of summer in gorgeous style.
Here, the fast, affordable fixes that will
take you from weathered to wonderful!
Beat-the-
beautiful!
Wave away sweat
stains and odor
Even when we apply antiperspirant, sweat still
manages to seep through clothes on a scorch-
ing day. Aesthetician Jordan LaFragola, who’s
worked with stars like Kelly Monaco, suggests
a salve containing coconut oil, cornstarch and
baking soda to help keep skin and clothes dry.
“Coconut oil’s antimicrobial properties kill
the odor-causing bacteria that lurks on warm,
damp skin, especially during the summer,”
she explains. Cornstarch and baking soda
absorb and wick away excess moisture, so
sweat won’t stand a chance. Bonus: The mix
can be applied to any sweat-prone areas like
the back, breasts and waist.
TO DO: In a bowl, combine^1 ⁄ 4 cup of coconut
oil, 2 Tbs. of cornstarch and 2 Tbs. of bak-
ing soda. Apply antiperspirant, then layer a
nickel-size amount of the mix on top. Store
any leftovers in a resealable container.
best you
