When your go-to
swimsuit leaves behind
tan lines that look
messy next to a pretty
patterned dress or top,
celebrity makeup art-
ist Mary Irwin suggests
this 5-minute, two-step
trick to conceal them.
First, mix^1 ⁄ 4 cup of olive
oil and^1 ⁄ 2 cup of sugar;
in the shower, massage
onto areas with tan lines
for 1 minute, then rinse
and pat skin dry. “This
removes any dead, dry
cells for a smooth sur-
face,” says Irwin. Next,
use a clean paintbrush to
apply a nickel-size amount
of waterproof body
bronzer (like tarte Better
Bod Bronze & Contour,
tarte.com) to pale lines,
blending it with the brush
into already-tanned skin.
Let dry for 1 minute before
getting dressed. Once the
day is done, rinse off with
soapy water.

Sundresses and sk ir ts help us feel so f lir t y and
feminine, and they offer cooling relief on a super
hot day. The biggest downside? When the fric-
tion from sweaty inner thighs rubbing together
leaves skin raw and inf lamed. To prevent the
pain of chub rub, celebrit y st ylist Anna Katsanis
tells her clients to slip into thigh bands like
Bandelettes (Bandelettes.com) before getting
dressed. Like a garter, but wider and thinner,
the lacy bands are made of breathable nylon
and spandex and slip right over thighs to create
a smooth barrier that prevents rubbing, so you
can wear skirts and dresses with confidence,
says Katsanis. And while the bands are meant
to be undetectable, if t hey do peek out slight ly,
the lace ensures they look like pretty lingerie.
Bonus: Each band is lined along the top and bot-
tom with gripping silicone, so they won’t roll
down or create the appearance of unf lattering
thigh bulges.
