Y
ou probably know Jeannie
Mai from holding it down on
The Real or from her wildly
popular web series, Hello Hunnay.
Now she’s bringing her talents to
Holey Moley, an extreme mini-golf
competition series, as a sideline
commentator. OK! chats with the
star about the new show.
What makes Holey Moley unique?
Let’s start with the fact that there
are ginormous car-size tulips at
one hole called Dutch Courage
that have the ability to knock a
grown man off his feet — I saw it
with my own eyes several times —
and a slippery, slushy ice glacier
that can make you despise gravity
as you climb your way up to
putt your ball. The obstacles
are larger than life and so
entertaining to watch.
Why do you think
viewers should tune in?
I’m positive this
show will be a
whole new guilty
pleasure to watch
with family or
friends. There
won’t be one
person who’ll be
able to pull their
eyes away from
the unexpected on
this golf course. Every
time I looked away for a second,
I missed a hilarious moment of
human versus insanity. It can’t be
missed!
What are the challenges — and
benefits — of filming a talk show
with other women on The Real?
Every day I do a sober cartwheel
of thanks that I have zero drama
at The Real working with three
incredible women. They’re
thoughtful, respectful and
wonderful to go to for advice.
It’s the best feeling to be able to
turn to any of them for different
opinions and encouragement.
Why did you start Hello Hunnay?
When I turned 40 I realized,
“Damn, I’ve been through
some [things].” If I could
write my own self-help
guide, I’d read the hell out
of it. My favorite topics
are the ones that get
me a tiny bit pissed,
because you know
it’s going to be
something I can’t say
on daytime [TV].
Real Housewives of New York CityÕs Barbara Kavovit
knows a little something about being resilient
in the Big Apple, so it comes as no surprise that
her new book is about a woman with the same
tough-as-nails attitude. Bridget is the CEO of a
construction company in an industry dominated by
men. Committed to becoming the first woman to
get a contract to build an NYC skyscraper, she must overcome sexism and
harassment in order to obtain it. But a wrench gets thrown into her plans
when she meets a sexy man — who also happens to be her competition.
