- Join two, 2½" x 10½" dark strips to
opposite sides and two, 2½" x 14½"
strips cut from same dark print to top
and bottom edges to make dark frame,
illust. 5b.
4a. Complete block by adding two, 2½"
x 14½" light strips and two, 2½" x 18½"
light strips in same way.
b. Light strips should be from same
print used for first frame around Nine
Patch block, illust. 5c. - Block should measure 18½" square,
illust. 5d. - Repeat with each Nine Patch block
to make four, Block B in total.
ASSEMBLY
1a. Refer to quilt layout and arrange
blocks into three rows of three blocks,
alternating blocks.
b. Join blocks together in rows.
c. Press seams for alternate row in
opposite direction.
d. Join rows together to complete
quilt centre.2a. Take 2½" cream strips and join strips
together end to end.
b. Press seams open.
c. Sub cut joined strips into two, 2½" x
54½" strips and two, 2½" x 58½" strips.
d. Adjust length of strips to fit your quilt
as necessary.
3a. Add shorter strips to opposite sides
of quilt top.
b. Press seams towards border.
c. Add longer strips to top and bottom
edges in same way to complete quilt top.COMPLETION
1a. Make quilt sandwich with quilt top,
wadding and backing.
b. Pin or baste layers.- Quilt as desired. Mandy free motion
quilted her quilt with a meandering
pattern on the light background fabrics
to make the dark fabrics ‘pop’. - Double bind edges with 2½" grey strips.
- Add a label.
