Knitting and Stitching Show, Alexandra Palace, London, during
October. This challenge will record a snapshot of current
themes, styles, fabrics and techniques to add to the collection.

Earlier in the year members were invited to join party
celebrations by creating a birthday party hat block designed
by Sarah Ashford. A fabulous project for both beginner
and experienced quilters, members were encouraged to
personalise and embellish their hat any way they wished. All
blocks were returned by the end of June to be displayed and
will be used to generate further funds for the Guild.

The specialist groups within the Guild (Traditional, Modern,
Contemporary, Miniature and the British Quilt Study Group)
have been set the Bloomfi eld Coverlet challenge, the fi rst
time they will have worked together on a project. Based on
