APPLIQUÉ
1a. Take 12½" x 51½" Daffodil Bloom
rectangle and referring to quilt layout,
arrange hexie flowers on rectangle.
b. Pin or tack in position.
2a. Using buttonhole or zigzag stitch,
appliqué hexie flowers to rectangle,
illust. 1a.
b. Remove tacking stitches and turning
rectangle over, cut out rectangle fabric
from behind hexie flower leaving ¼"
seam allowance, illust. 1b.
c. Carefully remove papers, illust. 1c.



  1. Referring to quilt layout and using
    green embroidery thread, embroider
    stem with back stitch joining flowers
    together, illust. 2.


4a. Trace leaf template given full size
on Pattern Sheet onto template plastic
or card.
b. Cut out carefully on lines.
5a. Fold Carrot Cake Arrow print right
sides together and draw around leaf
template eight times on wrong side
of fabric.
b. Keep fabric folded and stitch along
outlines of leaf shapes, leaving one
section unstitched for a turning gap,
illust 3a.
c. Cut out each leaf adding scant ¼"
seam allowance and turn leaves right
side out.
d. Flatten and slip stitch opening
closed.

stitched stem.
b. Machine stitch along centre of each
leaf, illust. 3b.

PIECING
Use ¼" seam allowance

1a. Take 2½" x 3½" rectangles cut from
assorted prints and join rectangles
along their longest edge into two rows
of six rectangles.
b. Add one strip to each end of
appliquéd Daffodil Bloom rectangle.
