APPLIQUÉ APPLIQUÉ APPLIQUÉ WITH MARGARET MEW

7 - 8 AUGUST – COWSLIP WORKSHOPS

Quietly cutting fabric and appliquéing them to a background is a favourite pastime

of Margaret’s and there are lots of ways of going about it... in many of her quilts

she uses several methods. So many factors come into play when she is choosing

a method to use – the appliqué shape, the quantity needed, how accurate the

placement needs to be ... and then there is just her mood on the day! In this class,

students will try diff erent appliqué techniques to add to their repertoire while

working on their choice of medallion quilts. Back-Basting is another method that’s

becoming better known and it’s a method Margaret often uses. You can learn the

technique in this class. There’s a whole host of quilt designs to choose from.

This one or two day workshop (10 - 4) costs £65 for one day, £130 for two.

TRIPLE ZIP CROSSBODY BAG WITH HELEN DUDGEON

15 AUGUST – PATCHFINDERS

This is a nice basic pattern for beginners or even advanced bag makers. Embellish

and alter the Triple Zip Bag to your heart’s desire. The three panels allow for

mixing colours or adding appliqué, embroidery or anything you’d like to create.

The bag features two internal slip pockets, two external zip pockets and an

adjustable strap.
